In Kenya’s drylands, drought and failed rains continue to threaten food security, incomes and livelihoods. But in Tana River, Garissa and Turkana, communities are finding practical ways to adapt.
Implemented with support from UN Kenya through UNDP, in partnership with the National Drought Management Authority, county governments and other partners, the Disaster Risk Reduction initiative is helping farmers strengthen resilience through sustainable farming, solar-powered irrigation and collective action.
The documentary follows farmers, women’s groups and young entrepreneurs using solar pumps, beekeeping, baking groups and agribusiness to turn climate pressure into new livelihood opportunities.
By linking disaster risk reduction, climate-smart agriculture and community-led development, the initiative is helping families in Kenya’s drylands protect food systems, earn incomes and build more secure futures.
