Every Woman. Every Newborn. Everywhere | Kenya's National Maternal Health Plan 2026-2028
Kenya has launched the Every Woman Every Newborn Everywhere Acceleration Plan 2026 to 2028, a national roadmap to reduce preventable maternal, newborn and stillbirth deaths.Led by the Ministry of Health, through the Division of Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health, and supported by UN Kenya through WHO, UNICEF and UNFPA, the plan sets clear targets for safer pregnancies, safer births and stronger care for mothers and newborns.By 2028, Kenya aims to reduce maternal mortality, lower neonatal deaths, train 900 health workers in emergency obstetric and newborn care across 26 high-burden counties, ensure zero stockouts of essential maternal health medicines and invest KES 1.03 billion in the first six-month Rapid Results Initiative. The plan brings national and county governments, health providers, communities and partners around one shared priority: saving the lives of women and newborns across Kenya.Learn more: EWENE Kenya
